NaNoWriMo 2016 – Week #1

What a great deal! National Novel Writing Month (Nano) started last Tuesday. So, my Monday blog posts will happen in seven day intervals! So, here is my news from week #1.

The Street’s Way is moving right along. I am 13339 words into the first draft on the way to 50,000 by the end of the month. Nano is always an adventure. Not just with the story, but also to make the daily goal. Some people do the entire 50,000 words in one day. That is wonderful for them, but it isn’t all about a number of words for me. I enjoy the developmental journey that the Nano story makes throughout the month. The number of words is just a goal for me to strive for to ultimately get the draft done.

With writing for Nano, I put a month of my life into creating just the rough draft. Until I started writing, I didn’t really understand how much a person puts of themselves into the final product that we get to enjoy. Just something to think about.
